About us
Gigi Falanga is the pastry chef and creative force behind ByGigi — a studio dedicated to transforming cakes into edible art. An accomplished pastry chef and cake designer, Gigi built her career alongside some of Australia’s top pastry chefs and award-winning venues.
She first rose to national prominence as co-host of the whimsical TV show Zumbo’s Just Desserts (2016), followed by her vibrant appearances on Get Arty (7TWO, 2017–2019) and Brazil’s international cooking series Diário do Olivier.
In both 2024 and 2025, she was honoured as one of the top 23 cake artists in the world, a testament to her global impact and unique artistic voice. Her creations have captured the attention of leading publications including VOGUE, The Lane, The WED and The Bridal Journey.

Gigi’s work is known for its bold, sculptural aesthetic and her daring approach to flavour — seamlessly blending unexpected ingredients and striking textures. Every cake is meticulously crafted using premium ingredients, resulting in designs that are just as memorable to taste as they are to behold.
What began as a love for elegant desserts has evolved into a multifaceted brand.
