What is the difference between
Online Shop and GET A QUOTE ?
Our Online Shop is an exciting new direction for byGiGi — designed to offer a curated range of seasonal cake designs that are more accessible and affordable. These cakes can be ordered quickly and easily online, with the added benefit of cost-effective delivery. They’re pre-designed, beautifully packaged, and perfect for those wanting a streamlined ordering experience.
For those looking for a fully custom cake — with personalised design, flavours, and styling— we recommend using the GET A QUOTE form. This option involves more back-and-forth and a higher level of creative input and planning. Custom cakes are priced
differently to reflect the additional time, craftsmanship, and delivery care required.
How do I place an Online Shop order?
Ordering is easy!
- Visit our website and browse the Online Shop collection.
- Choose your desired cake design, size, and flavour — a quote will appear at the
bottom of the page. - On the next page, select a pickup or delivery date from the available calendar
slots. - Complete your checkout to confirm your order.
How far in advance do I need to order a cake from the Online Shop?
● All online orders must be placed at least 3 days in advance.
● You can order up to 3 months ahead.
● We recommend ordering 2+ weeks in advance during peak periods to secure your preferred date.
Note: Once we reach our weekly limit of orders, we may mark that week as Fully Booked
Do you have cakes available for same-day pickup?
No — all cakes must be pre-ordered at least 3 days in advance to ensure quality and preparation time. We do not offer same-day pickup.
How do I select a pickup time for my order?
At checkout, you’ll select your preferred pickup date and time from the available slots.
Please note:
● Saturday pickups are available in 1-hour windows only.
● Please arrive on time — our team operates on a tight schedule and may not be at the studio all day
Can I choose a specific delivery time?
We can’t guarantee exact delivery times, as routes are planned based on the day’s orders and logistics.
However, if you have a preferred time, feel free to leave a note at checkout — we’ll do our
best to accommodate or follow up if needed.
Why can’t I select delivery for my order?
If you see “No shipment options for this address” after entering your postcode, it means
delivery isn’t available in your area.
You’re welcome to:
● Pick up from our studio, or
● Organise your own courier to collect your order.
Can I Pick Up My Cake Before My Event? How Should I Store It?
Yes, you can absolutely pick up your cake 1–2 days before your event — this is especially
helpful for weddings or celebrations happening outside of Sydney.
All our cakes are packed in tall, secure boxes for safe transport and most should be stored in the fridge overnight. Each order comes with a Cake Care Guide, outlining how to store and handle your cake to keep it fresh, stable, and beautiful for your event.
Important Note: Cakes that include fresh fruits or fresh flowers are more delicate and should ideally be picked up as close to the event as possible. (Pressed edible flowers are fine to store overnight.)
If you’re drawn to a particular design but need to pick it up earlier, we’re happy to suggest alternative decoration options that hold up better during storage.
How Do I Handle and Transport My Cake After Pickup?
Once your order is confirmed, you’ll receive a detailed Pickup Instructions email with essential information to help you transport your cake safely.
Please read it carefully — once a cake leaves our studio, we are not responsible for any damage during transit.
Key Transport Tips:
● Always keep the cake on a flat, level surface — the best place is on the floor of your car. Avoid placing it on a seat.
● Keep the cake cool and out of direct sunlight.
● Drive carefully — avoid sharp turns, sudden stops, or bumpy roads where possible.
● Do not leave the cake in a parked car on a warm day.
Can I Customize My Cake?
The cakes listed in our online shop are pre-designed to streamline production and ensure quality. However, some designs allow for customisation, such as colour changes, messages, or minor decorative tweaks. You can mention these requests in the Order Notes during
checkout, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
For more detailed customisation or bespoke design requests, please reach out to us directly through the Get a Quote form. We’ll happily provide a tailored design and quote. Please note: additional costs may apply for custom features.
Do You Offer Gluten-Free Cakes?
Yes! We offer gluten-free cake options — simply refer to our flavour menu online for available choices.
Please keep in mind that, while gluten-free, our kitchen is not a certified allergen-free environment.
What Should I Do If I Miss My Pickup Window?
If you miss your scheduled pickup, contact us as soon as possible.
We’ll do our best to arrange an alternative time, subject to our availability on the day.
Can I Change My Order After It Has Been Placed?
We typically cannot guarantee changes once your order has been confirmed.
That said, we understand plans change — if you need to adjust your order or pickup date, reach out to us early, and we’ll try our best to help.
Can I Cancel My Order?
We have a no cancellation or refund policy for orders placed via our Online Shop, as production planning begins soon after confirmation.
Do I Pay When I Place My Order?
Yes. Full payment is required at checkout to confirm your order.
We accept all major credit cards via our secure online payment system.
I’m Having Trouble Placing My Order. What Should I Do?
If you experience any issues while using our website:

What If I Don’t Receive an Order Confirmation Email?
If you haven’t received a confirmation email within 24 hours:
1. Check your spam or junk folder
2. If it’s not there, contact us to confirm your order went through
What Should I Do If My Cake is Damaged During Pickup?
We take care to package cakes securely, but if you notice damage at the time of pickup, please let us know immediately. We’ll assess the issue and work toward a resolution.
Are Your Cakes Suitable for People With Allergies?
Our cakes are made in a kitchen that handles common allergens including gluten, nuts, eggs, and dairy.
While we offer gluten-free options and aim to accommodate dietary requests, we cannot guarantee allergen-free products.
